Paypal काफी secured पेमेंट processor है. confinity ये सॉफ्टवेर कंपनी ने Paypal को 1998 मे स्टार्ट किया और जुलाई 2002 मे ebay इस कंपनी ने paypal को acquire कर लिया.  2013 मे ironpearl इस कंपनी ने paypal को ebay से acquire कर लिया. अभी तक 19 companies paypal को acquire कर चुके है. Paypal का head quarter san jose California मे है. अभी तक paypal 202 मार्केट और 24.4 Cr active resigter अकाउंट के साथ available है.

Paypal account के लिये सबसे जरूरी चीज होता है आपका ईमेल id.  आपका email id आपके paypal account ke साथ जुड़ा होता है और जब भी आप आपके फॅमिली मेम्बर्स और फ़्रेंड्स को पैसा भेजते हे तो उनका ईमेल id भी आपको पता होना चाहिए जो paypal अकाउंट के साथ जुड़ा हुआ है. अगर कोई भी आप को paypal के माध्यम से पैसे भेजना चाहते है तो आपका ईमेल id paypal के साथ जुड़ा होना चाहिये वरना वो पैसे नहीं भेज पायेंगे. तो आप समझ ही सकते है की आपका ईमेल id paypal से जुड़ा होना कितना जरूरी है.

अब आप सोचेंगे की ईमेल id पर पैसा भेजने से बैंक अकाउंट मे कैसा पैसा आयेगा तो जैसे ही आप paypal account खोलते है तो backend मे आपको आपके bank का details जैसे आपका नाम, आपका address, आपका अकाउंट नंबर और IFSC Code सेव करना होता है. और जैसे ही कोई आपका ईमेल आयडी डालकर Paypal से पेमेंट भेजता है तो वो आपके paypal अकाउंट मे आता है और उसके बाद जो बैंक अकाउंट आपने paypal मे सेव किया है paypal उसमे पैसे ट्रान्सफर कर देता हे. अगर आप किसीको पैसे भेजना चाहते हे तो आपका डेबिट कार्ड या क्रेडिट कार्ड आपको payapl अकाउंट मे जाकर backend मे लिंक करना होता है. तो जैसे ही आप किसिकों पैसे भेजते है तो paypal आपके debit card या क्रेडिट कार्ड से पैसे डेबिट करके उसको भेज देता है.

Paypal मे आप फ्री अकाउंट open कर सकते है. अगर आप paypal balance account से या bank account से पैसे भेजते है तो फ्री होगा पर paypal से अगर credit card link किया और वहाँ से पेमेंट करना चाहते है तो associated fees लगेगी. Paypal मे आप business account open कर सकते है. आप ने अक्सर देखा होगा की काफी सारे वैबसाइट पर paypal का लोगो होता है तो अगर उसपर आप क्लिक करके पेमेंट करते है तो paypal उस वैबसाइट को कुछ associated fee लगाता है पर आपको as a customer कुछ भी फी चार्ज नहीं होगा.
